Nutritional Management for Surgical and Trauma ICU Patients: Chronic Critical Illness and Sepsis
Critical care nutrition guidelines suggest routine use of immune-modulating formulas in the SICU for the post-operative patient that requires enteral feeding. Dr. Rosenthal describes his rationale for feeding SICU patients accordingly and regardless if they have or develop sepsis. In addition, recently published research in SICU patients with chronic critical illness is presented.
