The NNEdPro Global Centre for Nutrition and Health – a Consolidated Review of Global Efforts Towards Medical and Healthcare-Related Nutrition Education
In this presentation, Sumantra Ray reflects on 10 years of work based out of Cambridge, but involving medical schools and universities globally, aimed at changing attitudes in nutrition education for improved clinical outcomes. He wants to make the right thing to do the easy thing to do. He notes that it is important to move education for nutrition care beyond the simple acquisition of knowledge. He gives examples of some education interventions being embedded within systems of healthcare which will improve patient health by helping medical students and professionals appreciate the importance of delivering nutrition care. We need to give them the tools to help them feel confident to deliver that care.
