Nutrition & Disease Management
Nutrition Health & Wellness
In this presentation, Pat Crawford moves the discussion on to community policy and how it can be used to improve nutritional health. She focuses on interventions in settings where people live, work, learn, pray and play. She gives examples of some successful multicomponent programmes in the US that have worked intensively within a community to make positive changes in education, policy and environment. She talks about food banks, sugar taxes and the role of industry in altering formulations and diversifying to healthier options. She believes there is a grass-roots movement in the US for health: as nutritionists and health care professionals, we need to listen and work to find solutions.
