This presentation identifies opportunities within enhanced recovery principles to apply nutrition towards improving outcomes in major elective surgery patients. Identifying malnutrition prior to surgery and continuing to address it afterwards are key. Personal experience with creating the nutritional infrastructure and workflow to implement surgical nutrition interventions is also shared.
