Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy, usually referred to as “morning sickness,” can happen all day and not only in the morning. It affects about 50% of pregnant women, usually in weeks 6-8 till weeks 16-20 of pregnancy. This may have an impact in quality of life and increase risk of nutrition deficiencies. For most women, the symptoms can be controlled with dietary advice and supplementation, but for some, severe symptoms necessitate medical intervention.
