Marie-Noëlle Horcajada
Dr.Research scientist in Bone Physiology, Nestle Research, Switzerland
Received her PhD from the University of Clermont-Ferrand, France in 2001, after which she has been working as a scientist at INRA (National Institute of Agronomic Research) de Theix, France in the group of Nutrition Skeleton and Metabolism.
Her field of research was on nutritional prevention of osteoporosis and she has been focusing more precisely on the role of polyphenols (found in fruits and vegetables) on bone health, assessing cellular and molecular mechanism of action involved.
She received her private docent in 2009 by the University of Clermont-Ferrand.
She joined Nestlé Research as a senior scientist in bone and joint physiology in April 2009, and is now leading the “Mobility and Energy” research group, addressing nutritional solutions to optimize musculoskeletal health and mobility across the lifespan, in the Physical Health Department of Nestlé Institute of Health Science.
Current research interest she is trying to develop: understanding how nutrition can improve bone acquisition, from infancy to toddlerhood, targeting the gut microbiota-bone axis.
