On Friday April 17, 2015 a full-day scientifi c symposium was held in Melbourne, co-hosted by the DOHaD Society AU-NZ; the Nutrition Society of Australia; & the Nestlé Nutrition Institute. Entitled “Protein in Paediatrics – Nutrition Update Day”, the symposium featured 5 excellent speakers on various protein-related topics such as human milk protein dynamics and the long-term e ffects of excessive protein intake in early life. Peter Fryer, head of the Nestlé Nutrition Institute in Australia was in attendance and has summarised the key points of the symposium.
