
Carla Cerami
She is an Associate Professor at the MRCG Unit in The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she leads the Iron, Infection, and Anaemia group within the Nutrition and Planetary Health theme. With an MD and a PhD in Immunology, she has over a decade of expertise in clinical research and development.
Dr. Cerami has effectively orchestrated and analyzed a wide range of trials, from observational studies to late-phase clinical trials, across diverse global regions, including low-income countries and the United States. She has led clinical research teams in human genetics, infectious diseases, nutrition, and neurology, and has authored numerous scientific and clinical publications as well as clinical trial study and regulatory documents.
